Our annual music convention for
2008 is in Parsippany NJ, March 27-30 The convention is a great way to be
immersed in Irish music for an entire weekend. A number of us went to the
convention in Atlanta. I have to say that "a grand time was had by all!"
The convention next year will be in Parsippany, New Jersey at the Hilton.
We have had our convention there twice before. Many great workshop leaders
are being lined up for the weekend. I don't have all the specifics about
them yet. I do know that part of the hotel has been sold off, so there are
not as many rooms available at this site as previous. Reservations are
going fast. You may want to call and book your room now. Call 973-267-7373
or 1-877-671-5744 (9am-5pm). The web site with more information is
www.cceconvention2008.org . Our
students have been invited to perform at the youth concert on Saturday
evening, so anyone who is going can talk to the Choles to sign up to
perform. Cathryn performed there the last time the convention was in NJ
and ended up being featured in a front page article for a major NY
newspaper. Michael, Rory and Molly all attended the last convention in
Atlanta and had a great time at the sessions and workshops. Confirmed: The
Choles, the Cowells, Kara Scheer, the Moogs, the O'Connells. UPDATE: The
room block is sold out so the new rooms are now $139 but our branch still
has two available at the original price that can be transferred to your
name.***
